Tables Hold The Story

The best tables don't stay perfect.
They collect coffee rings, homework, family dinners, celebrations, conversations and the occasional scratch.
Barry builds furniture with that in mind. Beautiful enough to become the centre of the room, but made and finished to be used every day.
Because the marks aren't damage. They're the story.
Built Around Your Family
A dining table has to fit more than the room. It has to fit the people who use it.
Barry builds each table around the space available, the number of people you want to seat and the way your family actually gathers. From everyday dinners to the extra chairs that appear at Christmas, the dimensions, shape, wood and design are worked out around how the table needs to live.
Made for the room. Built for everyone who pulls up a chair.
The Space
Room dimensions, traffic flow and the space needed around the chairs.
The People
How many you seat every day, and how many you'd like to accommodate when everyone shows up.
The Character
Wood species, grain, natural edge, shape and details that make the table yours.
From Wood to Table

Find the Table In the Wood
The build begins by choosing the best parts of the slabs and deciding how their grain, edges and natural features will become part of the finished table.

Establish the Width
The slabs are trimmed to create the width and proportions of the table.

Set the Length
Once the layout is established, the pieces are cut to their final length.

Build the Mold
A mold is built around the positioned slabs to establish the final shape and contain the epoxy.

Pour the Epoxy
The epoxy fills the space between the slabs, preserving their natural edges as part of the design.

Built for Stability
Tables over 24 inches wide receive support members underneath to help prevent warping and keep the tabletop stable over time.
